Client approval and data sharing
Understand connection approval, category-level sharing, individual shared activities, and revoked access.
The client controls the connection
A client decides whether to accept a provider invitation and which supported information can be shared. A connection does not make every client entry visible automatically.
Recognize sharing states
- A dashboard or insight may show that data is unavailable because the category has not been shared.
- A client can share an individual completed assignment for review even when broader category access is limited.
- An eye or shared label identifies an assignment the client made available.
- If access is revoked, previously available views may stop loading new information.
Respond to limited access
Explain why a particular view could support the care conversation, then respect the client’s choice. Do not pressure a client to enable broad sharing as a condition of care.
Keep in mind
Use only information needed for the care purpose and follow the organization’s privacy, consent, and minimum-necessary practices.
