Check fit first

  • Explain the purpose and what the client may experience.
  • Consider trauma history, dissociation, psychosis, and other factors that call for closer support.
  • Offer an alternative when the client prefers another format.

Give complete instructions

  • Include grounding and a clear option to stop.
  • State what, if anything, the client should record or discuss afterward.
